Improved Cooling

When Cessna 172L and 172M models arrive at our shop we notice that many owners opt to remove the air box filter seal assembly. This leaves a wide gap and allows the ram air to pressurize the bottom cowl thru the air box opening. The seal is essential to achieve a greater pressure differential. We have experienced improved 10 to 15ºF CHTs, specially in the aft cylinders.

No Excuses

We made it simple for you or your mechanic to install our air box seal. The induction air box doesn't need to be removed. Just align and slide.

Weight and Strength

We have selected a special Polycarbonate plastic rather than the original ABS. It has better flammability ratings with a higher temperature resistance and superior chemical compatibility with motor oil and leaded and unleaded gasoline. Our lightweight polycarbonate material helps minimize the inertia loads on the assembly due to high frequency vibrations.

Single Piece Seal

Our fiberglass reinforced silicone material is a single piece seal that provides the best differential pressure for your lower cowl. Instead of the old staples, it is attached with a rivet and washer design.
